and night, we are going to watch the short clip on rotation and revolution.
Inform the students that we will be doing
three activities. In first activity we will watch vedio clip on rotation and
revolution. In second activity, we will do group work. Finally, we will draw
a diagram that shows day and night and four seasons.

Analysis Report
I planned a lesson on a topic Rotation and Revolution
for class VI. The objective of my lesson is that by the end of the lesson the
child will be able to give reason why there is day and night. In the similarly manner, the child will also
able to explain with diagram the causes of four seasons after watching a video.
In order to make lesson effective and interesting, I
used short video clip. Later the students were provided set of questions to be
answered in group based on short video clip. The lesson is for 50 minutes.
Well, to get concrete feedback on delivery of my lesson, I asked Mr. Jigme
Kuenzang, academic coordinator to observe my lesson. As usual, we had
pre-conference and also did post conference too. The some of the good things of
my lesson and points to be noted for future improvement are as discussed below.
Good
points of my lesson
Some of the good points noted by my lesson observer
are as discussed below;
1.
Effective
group
work and presentation
According to Mr. Jigme Kuenzang (lesson observer) he
states that all groups’ members participated equally active and were able to
complete assigned tasks on time. He added it is because I gave clear
instructions of an activity and due to use of a video clip. He also added that
presentation was very precise and everyone in the class enjoyed
thoroughly.
2.
Use
of video clip to teach rotation and revolution
Another good about my lesson is engaging the
students to watch video clip before I provide the group activity. My lesson observer shared that I have shown
interesting and relevant video clip to teach the rotation and revolution. He
added that the students were fully engaged and watched so passionately.
Further, he elaborated that a video clip consist good animation and language
used was very simple and to the level of class students. Moreover, students saw
practically how rotation and revolution are caused and very importantly, in the
video clip there is experiment demonstrated on how day and night are caused.
3.
Closure
part
An interesting part of my lesson is closure part. In
order to check students’ understanding on taught lesson I used popcorn strategy.
Very surprisingly, entire students raised the hands to share on what they have
learnt and it was good to learned that students could give correct answer to questions
posed. My lesson observer too enjoyed
closure activity and he proudly shared that it was worth attending my lesson.
Weakness
of my lesson delivery
Some of the lesson that I need to take note in my
next lesson are as discussed below:
1.
Drawing
activity (drawing that depicts four seasons due to revolution)
According to my lesson observer, he noticed that drawing
part was little difficult and time consuming activity. He shared that couple of
students do not know how to start the drawing and even they do not have pencil
and eraser which actually disturb their friends. To this aspect, he recommends me
to see the readiness of students before I begin any activity. He also added to
guide and monitor to those needy students.
2.
Time
management
Again my lesson observer observed that I didn’t used
time as allotted in each activity. For instance, I assigned 10 minutes for
lesson development but as per his record it evidenced that I took around 15
minutes to introduce and to develop the lesson. Because of poor management of
time I need to rush in first and closure activity. Likewise, he also added that
I closed my lesson before I complete my closure activity.
Future
commitments
Well, to make the lesson effective and précised,
first I will carefully look into the difficulty of activity. If activity is
challenging I will provide them ample time so that student will get time to try
and make it possible. Further providing ample time and support service to those
needy students will help me to fulfill my lesson objective and students’
learning would become meaningful too. I will also make sure that I will give
clear instructions and check their understanding of instructions before I start
any activities so student will be ready.
In the same manner, I will try to reduce the
activities so that students who are slower learner will be able to cope with
typical students and teacher will also able to provide constructive feedbacks
for betterment of learners. The minimizing activity will help me to achieve my
lesson objective and will have quality lesson delivery.
General
feelings about my lesson
Of course I integrated the ICT during my day to day
teaching and learning process. But a usual thing that I used is power point
presentation. Well, in today’s lesson I used video clip. It is sort of video
tutorial that encompassed animation and explanation by professional trained
teacher. She uses simple language and my class VI students understood very
well. In overall, my lesson went very well and classroom management was much
better compare to previous class. Very
interestingly, there was interactive session during entire session which is
positive sign that there are many impacts in learning through integration of
ICT.
Acknowledgement
First, I would like to thank Lop Jigme Kuenzang, for
observing my lesson and providing concrete feedbacks. I also would like to
thank my class VI students for cooperating with me and taking keen interest in
teaching and learning. Finally, I would like to thank our ICT tutor for
providing constant guidance and showering professional skills in executing the
ICT in teaching and learning process.
